»The album is an accidental concept born from the first session we managed to play together after a long and frustrating break necessitated by lockdowns, band members in high risk categories, and mental illness. Without looking for it we found death, isolation, boredom, uncertainty, rage, and an energy that we decided instantly to try to capture and preserve as it was. No additives, no major editing. In the uncertainty of the times, we began to collect recording equipment, slowly transforming our rehearsal space into a recording studio. We developed a ritual of playing and replaying, without click, the whole 27 minutes, until we got better than close to the original, to the perfect simulacra. There is a bonus track included in the album called '10 Hygiea' that is part of the soundtrack of 'Music Appreciation', a short horror movie we collaborated with.«

Angleški ekstremneži Cradle Of Filth se potikajo v studiu, kjer pripravljajo material za 14. dolgometražec. Novico je v svojem profilu Instagram razkrila vokalistka in klaviaturistka Zoë M. Federoff:

»I am beyond humbled to have been allowed to contribute vocals and/or keys to many of the songs on this album. Dani and the guys showed a lot of faith in me for my first album with the gang, and I went in extremely nervous and hellbent on making them all proud. Thank God Dani Filth and producer Scott Atkins are so good at calming my nerves! That was the most fun and relaxing studio session I've had in ages!

Škotska progresivna sludge/post metal zasedba Dvne bo 19. aprila pri Metal Blade Records izdala tretji celovečerec Voidking. S tega albuma je objavila že video za skladbo Pleroma.

Ameriški progresivni metalcorovci No Kings Allowed so posneli video za komad Dethroned z istoimenskega albuma, ki so ga prejšnji teden izdali pri No Kings Allowed Records.

Gothic/doom metalci Drift Into Black, pri katerih bobna Klemen Markelj, bodo 28. junija izdali peti album Voices Beneath the Rubble. Ta bo izšel pri Black Lion Records in prinesel deset komadov:

V okviru promocijske turneje lanskega albuma Godlike se v Ljubljano vračajo Thy Art Is Murder. 3. julija bodo obiskali Kino Šiška, s seboj pa pripeljejo death metal veterane Dying Fetus, metalcorovce Fit for a King, avstralske Alpha Wolf in japonske Knosis.

Judas Priest, ki bodo kmalu izdali 19. album Invincible Shield, po objavi besedilnega videa zdaj objavljajo še uradni video za komad The Serpent and the King. Izid albuma je napovedan za 8. marec pri založbi Sony Music.

Kanadski tehnični death metalci Atræ Bilis so razkrili prvi komad s prihajajočega drugega albuma Aumicide, ki izide 19. aprila pri 20 Buck Spin. Gre za komad Salted in Stygia. Tracklista:

Nemški heavy/power metalci Hammer King predstavljajo video za komad The Devil Will I Do. Komad bo na prihajajočem albumu König und Kaiser, ki izide 22. marca pri Napalm Records.

Norveška progresivna viking/folk/black metal zasedba Borknagar je v petek pri Century Media Records izdala album Fall. S tega albuma pa so posneli in objavili video za skladbo The Wild Lingers, ki si ga lahko ogledate spodaj.

Kanadska heavy metal zasedba Withering Scorn, katere člana sta tudi brata Shawn in Glen Drover, pripravlja material za drugi celovečerec, ki bo nasledil prvenec Prophets Of Demise iz leta 2023. Shawn Drover o novem materialu:

»At this point, this is where we're at. I've got three songs done for drums completed, and we started working on song four today; Glen and I started working on this intro piece to song four, where it's got this whole intro thing and stuff. And so we worked that out. And that's where we're at in terms of music as well. We just started song four. Glen still has a couple of songs to do for keeper guitars and so does Joe for bass. We haven't even approached the lyric process or the singing yet. Once we get far enough ahead, that's when we'll start to tackle that. Once I hear keeper guitars, then I start to assemble lyrics. I need to kind of hear the finished product of certainly the drums and guitars, if not bass as well, so I get inspired to write lyrics. That's kind of how I work with that.«

Veterani Judas Priest vse oboževalce pred izidom nove plošče Invincible Shield razveseljujejo s še enim singlom. Tokrat so za komad The Serpent and the King pripravili besedilni video, album pa bo izšel 8. marca pri Sony Music.

Po petih letih se iz pokoja vračajo legendarni Slayer. Čeprav je nedavno kitarist Kerry King najavil izid prvega solo albuma, je zdaj kot strela z jasnega udarila vest, da se na koncertne odre vračajo Slayer. Zaenkrat sta v ZDA napovedana le nastopa na festivalih Riot Fest in Louder Than Life. Ali se bo band podal tudi na obsežnejšo turnejo, zaenkrat še ni znano.
